Breaking ground
By: Dave Thomas
We started this summer out by adding 4 tree stands on a 20 acre parcel or what we like to call the train station 20. The stands were placed together 2 per location. We would use one for filming and the other for hunting. The 1st location was the corner of a field that overlooked the bedding area. The tree we used has 4 main trunks and a good 10 small trunks that canopy around the main 2. The tree is prefect fit for having two hunters in it. When looking out you can see the main field in front of you and tons of deer paths all around you. This tree has never been used before, however many deer have been seen near it during last years harvest. We used some minerals to see if any deer where in the area and sure enough they came. No monsters but it's good to see some action.

The other location is about 200 yards away in the woods. This location is surrounded by trees and makes for a deep woods hunt. Like the other location we added 2 tree stands one for hunting and one for filming. This time we used a Big Game Ladder stand and along with a hang on that is about 2 feet higher on the right. We raked a 20x20 area and added a small foot plot using no plow seed.

Within one week of added this seed we saw growth. It took to the ground super fast and we could not believe how easy it was to use. We also tested it by putting it in other locations in the surrounding area without raking and it still grew. We set up the trailcam and below are some of the pictures we captured. If you look close you can see what looks like grass but is actually our seed growing wild!
So by using the trail cameras, no plow seed, and some mineral we can conclude that there is a decent 8 point walking around are stand 2 location. This is very important as it now tells us taking an early season doe would be a bad idea in at the train station 20, because this location is smaller and for a doe to go missing might make this buck not return. Make sure you are out looking for those shooter bucks early, don't want to hunt a location that offers none.

Now we look at this bow and think different right? Well yes, it is different, but after shooting it I was very pleased with the results. The SpeedZone was fast, accurate, forgiving, and most of all comfortable. I figured when I first took it out of the box it might have a ton of hand shock because of its sleek design, but that was not the case. The machining of this bow is very precise and makes for a cool looking design. If you have not tried this bow out, get to your dealer and test it. I think you will like what you feel.
Limbsaver is a great company that makes tons of products. If you have not had a chance to check out what they have, click on the bow to your left and check them out. The have sights, rests, stabilizers, silencers, quivers, and much more.
Much more to come with Limbsaver, as one of our ProStaff will be shooting their bows this coming 2010 season.

As many of you already know we have been working with the MOR Archery Target for a few months. The Mor Archery Target is one of a kind. There is not a target out there, that we know of, that can handle the abuse this target can. If you don't believe me get to your local dealer and shoot at it. This target is portable and can be used most anywhere. If you have kids, I am not sure you can find a safer target system on the market. With the safe tips, you don't have to worry about your child getting poked with a field tip. Check out the video below to see some of the impacts this target can handle from an adult hunting bow.
