Combine the abrasion-resistant properties of nylon and the light weight insulation of polyester fleece and you have the all-new Power Shield fabric by Polartec. Think of it as body armor for the outdoor warrior. These fabrics feature an extremely durable, stretch woven, nylon face with bomb proof water-repellent finish. The tough shell is made to brush aside trail hazards that would shred inferior garments, it also gives you the insulating warmth to block out cold breezes. Power Shield fabrics have all the breathability and freedom of movement you need when you're hard at play. Power Shield was designed to replace traditional fleece and shell systems for most outdoor clothing applications, cutting down on the number of layers and weight you need to insulate and protect. While it is combined into one fabric, the outside face is a tightly woven, water-repellent nylon with superior abrasion protection. Inside, a polyester velour traps air and provides a high warmth-to-weight ratio. The DWR finish sheds rain or snow for use in all but the most extreme cold-weather conditions. The Power Shield fabric alone blocks 98% of the wind to prevent wind chill, yet allows enough air to circulate to keep you from overheating. Nonrestrictive cut allows a full range of motion for outdoor sports like skiing and snowboarding. Nylon shell also cuts down on noise.
