TRU-FIRE Releases make their way to BowHunterPlanet TESTLAB. We were very excited to test these as we have heard many good things over the years on the TRU-FIRE brand.  All of the things we heard proved to be 100% true.  Starting with the EdgeHybrid Foldback - this release has a defined caliper on the front that allows for easy attachment to a loop.  This release also has a really nice feel to it and the trigger is in the prefect spot!  Not to mention the awesome buckle system TRU-Fire has designed.  The Hurricane - is another great release that features a 32 position length adjustment system.  Extremely comfortable and easy to attach the hurricane makes for the perfect bowhunting release. The 3D Hunter - is a handle releasethat is easy to hold and feels really good in your hand.  The thumb trigger makes for a very easy compression.  The thumb trigger is also machined very well so you can feel the trigger in your thumb.  The 3D Hunter would make for a great hunting release as well as 3D target shooting.

Edge Releases

The Edge line of releases is designed with a smaller than dime sized head. Even though it has been scaled back to suit your tastes, the Edge retains the functionality and benefits you expect from Tru-Fire. The Edge release line utilizes a linear motion bearing which delivers an extremely smooth trigger feel. Pull the trigger back to open the jaws, and let up on the trigger to close the jaws. Also new on the Edge’s is a lockdown set screw for your length adjustment. Once you have the correct length just simply tighten the set screw and the length will be locked in place. This small product innovation is a perfect example of how we continue to engineer products that will help you become a better shot. 100% American Made.

3D Hunter Release

The 3D Hunter release has a solid CNC machined handle, plus a head that rotates independently from the handle. We also included a set screw located in the handle so you can lock the head down in any position 0° to 360°.

The jaws are steel, heat treated and then Teflon coated for years of dependable use. The jaws open when you pull the trigger and close when you let up on the trigger. There is no cocking mechanism on the back of the handle like a standard “hammer throw” release so this bowhunting release is extremely quiet. Once adjusted on the edge, this release will rival any $160 hand held archery release at 1/2 the price.

The Jimi T release from Jim Fletcher Archery is a great feeling handle style release. One of our favorite parts to this release it is fat thumb trigger. You can really feel the thumb trigger giving the shooter more control on the shot. The trigger can be adjusted from hair to heavy pull with no trigger travel and features our exclusive over-center linkage system for a super smooth release every time. The Jimi T makes for a great hunting or target release, comes anodized in black on blue or pewter on bronze. Included with the release are three trigger options. The copperhead offers a very sleek caliper which closes around your loop or string.  This release has a very nice feel to it providing the shooter with smooth handling and accurate precision.  The strap feels exceptionally sound around your arm and when you go to shoot the trigger has a thin precision feel to it as well.  You can tell from holding it that it was made with high-quality.

Wow! This release is very smooth and sturdy; you can tell by holding it that it has been fabricated very well.  Once this came we shot it over and over and over, but still did not find any weaknesses.  It has a very reliable trigger and gives your finger a nice grip when getting ready to fire.  If you like hook style releases this one is a must.  Go to your local shop and try out the Fletch Hook, you won't be disappointed.

The T.R.U. Ball Cyclone is truly a competitor.  This release is very smooth operation, it is made very well and can tell from handling it that the materials are solid. Very quite in the field, this release is able move around, getting out of the hunters way when climbing a tree or holding a bow.  The down side to this release is the connection with the rope and the jaws. Some of our huntersuse a small loop and this release has tendency to slip off.  If you are using a standard size loop this release would work great. 

They also make another model called the stinger which gives you the same type of head but a stick type connector, so if you don't like your release handing that model is for you.
